Which AR grade for your job?
Abrasion-resistant (AR) plate is graded by Brinell hardness — the higher the number, the longer it lasts against sliding abrasion, but the harder it is to cut and form. Matching the grade to the duty is what cuts downtime without overspending.
AR200 covers light wear — chutes, hoppers and agricultural equipment. AR400 is the workhorse for general wear: dump-truck bodies, conveyors and earthmoving. AR500 steps up for mining buckets, crusher liners and recycling equipment, while AR600 is reserved for extreme-abrasion liner plates and impact zones. Where impact matters more than pure abrasion, Hadfield Mn13 work-hardens in service — the right choice for crusher jaws and rail crossings.
Every plate ships with its mill test certificate — heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties — and we cut to size, bevel and form so liners and wear parts arrive ready to fit. Tell us the equipment and the wear you're seeing, and we'll recommend a grade and thickness.
